Joanna
REGISTERED PHYSIOTHERAPIST
Joanna is a founding member of Wintergreen Physiotherapy and Sports Medicine Clinic. Joanna provides physiotherapy treatments for all sports injuries related to the musculoskeletal system. She specializes in vestibular physical therapy, for which she has had the honor to work with some of the Ear, Nose and Throat surgeons at Toronto General Hospital.
Joanna grew up in Wayne Gretzky’s hometown, Brantford, Ontario. She had always wanted to be a physiotherapist and had a keen interest in sports injuries and their treatment from early on. She attributes this to her father, who was the team therapist for the Polish soccer team. Having grown up in a home environment geared towards sports injuries and their treatment, she wanted to flavor other professions, and so, Joanna studied Contemporary Studies and Health Studies for her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating with a Gold Medal. Being at the top of the class in Health studies, she could not leave her passion for physiotherapy, and so, she went to McMaster University to obtain her Master of Science in Physiotherapy. At McMaster University, which is the origin of evidence based medicine, she learnt new and innovative techniques in physiotherapy.
Why Work With Me
Joanna has 10 years of experience in the field of physiotherapy. She has worked with all kinds of patient populations, having worked at the University of Toronto hospital system (University Health Network), where she has dealt with various domains of physiotherapy. Joanna is a very accomplished individual – she has obtained numerous awards and recognition throughout her training. She has done extensive research in the field of Orthopedics and is well published. She strives to treat her patients with the most current best evidence, with her goal and passion being to help her patients obtain their ideal health goals and have the best quality of life possible.
Joanna loves spending most of her spare time with her children. When not with her children or working, Joanna will either be nourishing her new found skill of cooking, getting herself back to her regular gym routine, or shopping on Amazon. She loves watching sports, obviously hockey (being from Brantford), but she is also an enthusiastic fan of the Blue Jays.
